Take a walk through the                          below.

If you’ve never had family portraits taken, you are probably thinking that this sounds a bit overwhelming, not to mention long overdue. I'm here to help make the process fun and easy.   I'll guide you through the process from beginning to end, including what to wear, picking the perfect location, and selecting family portrait images for your home. I have taken gentle care to think of every little detail so that you are comfortable and relaxed.

Following your session, we'll schedule another appointment where you'll come to my studio and view images from your session.  This is where you'll place your order so be sure to bring any decision makers along.  This appointment takes place 1-2 weeks after your session.  More Viewing Session detailed information is here.

Step 4 - Viewing

I consider my style of photography to be gently posed and lightly directed.  Most people do not know how to pose for pictures, which causes lots of stress!  That's where my expertise and experience comes in.  I provide guidance into beautifully composed poses  that show connections then let natural emotions have their way.  We might play silly games, say silly words, or make silly noises.

Step 3 - The Session

As a mom (and grandma) myself, I know that planning for ANYTHING - especially with little ones - can be stressful. My goal is to help you each step of the way.  I'll offer clothing suggestions that fit the style of your session or that coordinate with a specific room in your home where portraits will be displayed.   We'll discuss location or studio options.  The goal is to relieve any undue stresses prior to your session so that we can have a fun and relaxed time together.

Step 2 - Planning

First and foremost, send me a note by either using the contact form or email me directly at laurie@lauriewartaphotography.com. From there, we can chat via email or connect on the phone. Together, we’ll set a date. (For Newborns: - babies arrive on their own timeline, so the earlier you contact me, the better.)
